In Romania, Lukoil assets were arrested
The Prosecutor’s Office of the Romanian city of Ploiesti seized the accounts and assets of Lukoil Europe Holdings Bvatrium Olanda.
The arrest, according to the Romanian news agency Mediafax, was imposed as an interim measure as part of the investigation of the company's activities in the country.
Among other things, the Romanian prosecutor's office ordered the arrest of the shares of SC Petrotel-Lukoil SA Ploiesti, a LUKOIL refinery in Ploiesti.
Persons involved in the investigation of tax evasion and money laundering are five employees of Lukoil Europe Holdings Bvatrium Olanda, including two Russian citizens, the prosecutor's office said.
In turn, a source in the leadership of Petrotel-Lukoil reported that the refinery in Ploiesti continues to operate. The property of the company, he said, has not yet been arrested.
