In Russia, a military plane fell on a multi-storey residential building: there are victims

A Su-34 military aircraft fell on a residential building in Yeisk (Russia), reports “Present Tense«.

“Our plane fell on the city. Yeisk. In the area of ​​​​a residential building - Kommunisticheskaya, building 20/1. Ambulances and firefighters are coming from all over the city, helicopters are in the air,” the TASS source said.

Another resident specified that this residential building has nine floors.

The Russian Ministry of Defense later confirmed the plane crashed on a residential building. According to the agency, the aircraft crashed while climbing for a training flight. The cause of the crash was the ignition of one of the engines during takeoff.

According to telegram channel “112”, presumably, two pilots managed to eject. Residents of the city noticed one of the pilots and managed to ask him several questions.

As a result of the crash of a military plane in Yeysk, 13 people died, including three children. Nineteen people were injured.

According to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kuban, the fire area is about 2 thousand square meters. The unified duty and dispatching service reported that the ceilings from the ninth to the fifth floors had collapsed. The whole entrance was engulfed in fire, about 45 apartments were damaged to one degree or another.

At 20:32, the governor of the Krasnodar Territory, Veniamin Kondratiev, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, said that the remains of the aircraft were extinguished and the fire was localized. The evacuation of residents of nearby houses has been cancelled.

On the fact of the plane crash on a residential building, a criminal case was opened in the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
