In Russia, they decided to treat the villagers via Skype
Russian Health Minister Veronika Skvortsova promised that within two years Russian doctors will be able to work with the population of remote villages via Skype.
According to TASS, Skvortsova noted that now in Russia there are thousands of 83 settlements with a population of less than 100 people. Due to the lack of personnel, it is impossible to provide them with permanent local medical assistance.
In this regard, it is planned to stretch fiber-optic communication lines to each settlement, which will allow their residents to go online. As a result, doctors will be able to at least communicate with patients via Skype.
Skvortsova added that in addition to this, a 24-hour medical dispatch service will be created in each region, based on disaster medicine centers. He will maintain contact with populated areas and, if necessary, send an ambulance there.
Currently, the number of Internet users in Russia is estimated at 82 million people. This is about two thirds of the country's population over the age of 12.
