In Russia, Pokemon GO is considered the development of US intelligence
Russian State Duma Deputy Denis Voronenkov appealed to the head of the Federal Security Service and the Minister of Communications and Mass Communications with a request to impose a ban on the distribution of the game Pokemon GO in Russia.
“I ask you to check [...] and consider the possibility of imposing a ban on the distribution of the augmented reality game Pokemon GO in the territory of the Russian Federation,” the official requests of Voronenkov say.
The parliamentarian believes that the game can damage the security and national interests of Russia, as it can be "a product developed by the US special services for the purpose of conducting continuous intelligence activities."
Voronenkov notes that "users of mobile devices on which this game will be installed may become complicit in a terrorist act or espionage without knowing it." The deputy connects this with the fact that players take photos and videos of objects and territories located in Russia, and this information without the knowledge of users of mobile devices can get to intruders.
