In New York, found bins with closed cats in them
New York police launched an investigation after employees of a local animal shelter found cats in closed buckets, writes RTVi.
So far the police are aware of two such cases. Tightly closed buckets of animals were left near the Animal Haven shelter.
In the first case, the shelter staff noticed that a cat's eye was looking at them from the bucket. In the second case, the staff found another cat who had obvious health problems.
It is not clear whether the animals were left with the hope that they would be noticed. Animal Haven workers said that the buckets were in places where the passerby would not have paid attention to them.
The animals were left near the garbage cans, and if the shelter staff had not seen them, the cats could go to the garbage dump. Independently they could not get out.
