Amazon Headquarters to open in Queens, New York

On Tuesday, the company announced where it will locate its new "hq2" headquarters in two North American metropolitan areas. According to Amazon, each city will receive $2.5 billion in economic investment and 25 new jobs.

The company chose the Long Island City area of ​​Queens, New York, and the Washington suburban area of ​​Arlington, Virginia.

“These two headquarters will allow us to attract world-class talent that will help us continue to serve our customers for years to come,” CEO Jeff Bezos said in a speech. “The team did a great job selecting these cities, and we look forward to becoming an even bigger part of these communities.”

Amazon.com Inc. also announced on Tuesday a major investment in Nashville, Tennessee.

A new company headquarters will be located on the East Coast of the country in Nashville, the source said. Due to this, 5000 new jobs will appear in the corporation.

Amazon’s headquarters are now located in Seattle, where the company's “urban campus” is woven into the city’s structure. Last year, the company made an announcement that it was looking for a place for a second campus. Amazon representatives said that Seattle, which has shown rapid growth in recent years, was unable to attract the required number of employees to complete the planned discoveries.

Many cities have rushed to offer their opportunities and tax breaks to become a second home for Amazon, its substantial expenses and jobs.
