At Harvard, high school students will learn Russian for free
Harvard University is registering for a free summer program for Russian-speaking high school students (14-18 years) in the Russian language “Bridge to Russia”. The program will be held at the University base from 1 to 20 August 2016.
The program consists of:
- 75 study hours of Russian classes with a bias in social sciences (history, cultural anthropology, linguistics, geography, political science);
- passing certification exams for proficiency in Russian (ACTFL Assessment of Opportunity in Languages (AAPPL), Oral Proficiency Interview (OPIc), and Writing Proficiency Test (WPT));
- development of literacy and communication skills: the ability to communicate on topics that go beyond everyday life, learning and studying Russian history, culture and language in the process of communication with native speakers from the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center;
- view Russian movies.
The program itself is free, but the cost of registering $ 50.
