In Brooklyn, presented a poetic collection of NASHRIM

В Central Brooklyn Public Library There was a presentation of a collection of poems called NASHKRYM. It includes works by more than a hundred Russian-speaking poets from dozens of countries around the world. All of them are united by the theme of Crimea.

The authors of the poetic texts included in the anthology live and create their works in the USA, Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, Italy, France, Ireland, Australia and Israel. Among the 120 participants in the project, there are many who live in Crimea itself. For obvious reasons - due to the unclear status of the peninsula - they were combined into a separate group, not being classified either in Ukraine or, especially, in Russia.

The title of the collection - NASHKRYM - is a challenge to the slogan KRYMNASH, popular among adherents of the dominant views in Russia. Instead of focusing on anyone's claims to this land, the authors talk about Crimea itself - in verse.

“The logical emphasis falling on “Crimea” emphasizes the importance and intrinsic value of the peninsula as a subject of historical, cultural and aesthetic reflection,” says the project’s website. “This anthology is a kind of poetic peacemaking manifesto, an attempt to return Crimea from a space of discord to the space of literature and intellectual dialogue, from geopolitics to geopoetics.”

They call to remember that Crimea is not only a political bone of contention, but, above all, a place with amazing nature and history that never ceases to inspire people to be creative.

The print version of the anthology was released in mid-December 2015 year in the American publishing house KRiK (KRiK Publishing House).
