Britain refused to recognize Russia's sovereignty over Voronezh and Rostov: how did it happen
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, at a meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov, did not recognize Russia's sovereignty over Voronezh and Rostov. Writes about it Rambler.

“Great Britain will never recognize Russian sovereignty over these regions,” Truss replied after a short pause.

Later, she explained how such embarrassment arose.
“During the meeting, it seemed to me that Minister Lavrov was talking about a part of Ukraine. And I clearly indicated that these regions (Rostov and Voronezh) are not part of sovereign Russia, ”Truss explained.
