“Days of sobriety” are held in Belarus

In 6 regions of Belarus, local authorities decided to ban stores from selling alcohol on school graduation days. Some of these areas are introducing other dry dates.

In the Bobruisk region, the “Day of Sobriety” campaign will be held on May 30 and June 12. During these days, the sale of alcoholic beverages was prohibited in the district.

In the Dzerzhinsk region, days of sobriety are announced on 21 May, 18 June, 16 July, 20 August, 17 September, 15 October, 19 November and 17 December.

Vetka district restricted the sale of alcohol from 8 in the morning on May 30 to 8 in the morning on May 31, and at the same time on June 12. The restriction does not apply to the sale of alcoholic beverages by retail trade objects for ritual ceremonies, weddings and jubilee celebrations, the Vetka Regional Executive Committee clarifies in its decision.

The Brest regional executive committee banned the sale of alcohol on May 30 and June 11 “in connection with the holding of graduation ceremonies in general secondary education institutions.”

In Lyakhovichi district, restrictions on the sale of alcohol concern only 12 June.

Alcohol will not be sold in Malorita district 18 in May, 30 in May, 12 in June (due to the proms) and 15 in December. Restrictions do not apply to the sale of alcoholic beverages to shopping facilities located at checkpoints across the State Border, as well as for ritual ceremonies, according to the decision of the district executive committee.

The prohibitions do not relate to the sale of alcohol in retail trade, as well as in catering facilities, according to regulations.
