The cold weather in Europe has caused a rare phenomenon in Holland: part of the Amsterdam canals froze, allowing locals to skate through the canals.
For the first time in six years, part of the canals of Prinsengracht and Keizersgracht froze enough to withstand a mass of dozens of tourists, local residents and ice skating enthusiasts.
