The head of the only region of Ukraine, where Poroshenko won, resigned

The head of the Lviv regional administration, Oleg Synyutka, who held this post since December 2014, announced his resignation. This is the only region of Ukraine where in the presidential election the residents gave a majority of votes to Petro Poroshenko, and not to Vladimir Zelensky, who won in the second round.

“I am leaving the post of head of the Lviv regional administration, but I remain with the Lviv region, I remain with Lvov, I remain with our people, whose support we have - we were convinced of this yesterday during the elections,” Sinyutka said at a meeting in the regional administration. He did not specify when he plans to leave his post, reports Medusa.

11 April Sinyutka said that he would leave his post in the event of losing Poroshenko in the second round of the presidential election.

“I worked with this president and it doesn’t suit me to work with another person, no matter what he is. Moreover, today the situation is such that this person is 100% not prepared for such a difficult position as the President of Ukraine,” the portal quotes Sinyutka Zaxid.net.

Oleg Sinyutka headed the Lviv regional administration in 2014, before that he worked for many years in the local city council.

According to the CEC of Ukraine, Lviv region became the only one in Ukraine, where the current president, Petro Poroshenko, won in the second round of elections. Following the processing of the 100% protocols of the precinct election commissions, he won the majority of votes in all regional districts.

Vladimir Zelensky won the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine, which was 21 April. After processing 99.84% of ballots as of 21: 30 on April 22 (14: 30 in New York), he gets 73,22% of votes. Petro Poroshenko scored 24,46%. He has already admitted his defeat in the elections and congratulated Zelensky on his victory.
