'Smelled a turkey?': In Florida, a 3-meter alligator knocked on a family's door on Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving dinner was ruined for a Florida family when a huge alligator approached their front door and started banging on it.
“He was hissing and wagging his tail,” said homeowner Chhaa Beharry, as quoted by Cbs miami. “I looked out the window, and there was a giant alligator, its tail was just hitting my door. It was strong."
“I asked, hey, why my house? Did you smell the turkey?” - she added.
The almost three-meter alligator scared not only Beharry, but also the neighbors who warned her about the reptile under the doors via Facebook and came to see what was happening.
“There were golf carts and cars full of people, they just wanted to watch the show, but I had to ask them to leave so no one would get hurt,” Beharry said.

Beharry's fiancé called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and experts arrived a few minutes later to remove the alligator from the door. But it was not easy to catch him.
“They tried to pull him out, but he seemed to slide out,” Beharry said.
This is not the first case in the county.
“We have lakes here—the alligators just pop up,” said one of Beharry’s neighbors. The family hopes that such a close meeting will be the last.
"Be careful with your children and animals, don't go out in the dark at night because that's when they come out," Beharry said.
