Ukrainian Usyk became the fourth in the history of the boxer, who collected all championship belts

Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usyk became the first absolute heavyweight champion in the history of Ukraine, winning belts in four main versions - WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF. Usik became the fourth absolute champion with four titles in world boxing history.

According to isportpreviously, the Klitschko brothers owned all the belts in their weight, but for the titles to be in the hands of one Ukrainian boxer - this is the first time.

This was only possible for the Americans Bernard Hopkins and Jermain Taylor (both are of medium weight), and also of Terence Crawford (medium weight).

The title Usyk got after he won the final of the World Boxing Super Series, beating Russian Murat Gassiyev.

Immediately after the fight, the boxers hugged in the ring, and Usik said to his opponent: “You are young, you still have everything ahead of you, but I don’t have much time left. You are handsome! Gassiev thanked Usik.

One of the organizers of the World Boxing Super Series, Kalle Sauerland, said that the Ukrainian is the best boxer in the world, regardless of weight class.

“Usyk fought in an amazing fight. I think today he is the best P4P boxer in the world and a worthy winner of the Muhammad Ali trophy,” Telegraf quotes Sauerland.

According to statistics, Usik struck almost a thousand blows per fight. In the updated BoxRec rating, Usyk now takes the 7-place, having an 692 point in the asset. Vasily Lomachenko is the only 808 player out of the Ukrainians.

Usik was born in 1987 in Simferopol, where he received a secondary education. He graduated from Lviv State University of Physical Culture. In childhood, he played football. He started boxing in 15 years. He is married, there are three children - Elizabeth, Cyril and Michael.
