Ukraine and the United States are conducting joint exercises in the Black Sea
The US guided-missile destroyer USS Ross and the flagship of the Ukrainian Navy, frigate Hetman Sahaidachny, are conducting exercises in the Black Sea.
The purpose of the joint exercise, which began on June 1, is to “convince NATO allies and U.S. regional partners of the readiness to work closely with them to enhance maritime security and stability in the region.”
“Collaboration with our partners in the Black Sea contributes to strengthening regional awareness. Naval exercises with partners such as Ukraine allow us to increase our overall capabilities and cooperation,” said the captain of the American destroyer Tedd Gorman. The exercises will be held for 2 days and will end on June 2.
“As always, their actions were very professional, and working with them today has strengthened our relationship,” he said.
