Trump confessed his love for Israel and promised to resolve the conflict with Palestine
President-elect Donald Trump announced his desire to strengthen friendship and cooperation between the United States and Israel.
He said this in his first foreign interview as an elected US President, which he gave to an Israeli newspaper. Israel Hayom.
In it, he confessed his love for Israel and its people, and also called this country “the only democracy and defender of human rights in the Middle East.”
“I believe my administration will play a significant role in helping the parties achieve a just peace that should be negotiated between the parties to the conflict and not imposed on them by others,” Trump said.
He added that the United States and Israel have many common values: “freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and the importance of creating opportunities for all citizens to fulfill their dreams.”
Recall during the election campaign Trump promised to move the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which all previous presidents of the United States considered a neutral territory, since both Israel and Palestine claim this city.
After trump's victory Israeli politicians reminded him of this promise and called for doing it.
