Trump: I have every right to introduce a state of emergency

US President Donald Trump said that he has every right to impose a state of emergency in the country if he cannot reach an agreement with the Democrats.

He said this in an interview with the TV channel Fox News on the banks of the Rio Grande. Trump traveled there to reiterate that the wall is needed to prevent the importation of drugs into the United States and human trafficking.

“Everything is spelled out clearly in the law on this matter. I mean, I have every right to introduce a state of emergency in the country. If it is not possible to reach an agreement with Congress, I will most likely do it. I see no reason why I should not do this. The law on 100% is on my side, ”Trump said.

On the question of how much he is willing to wait before imposing a state of emergency, he replied that this would most likely happen in the next few days. But the exact timing of Trump did not name.

Trump also expressed his intention to nevertheless reach an agreement with the Congress on this issue.

The President stressed that due to the lack of a wall at the border, criminals penetrate the United States. They disperse in all states, they can only stop the wall on the border with Mexico.

Trump also said that some politicians are already thinking about the 2020 presidential campaign of the year. In his opinion, they should put the country in the first place, and not their political ambitions. Saying this, he mentioned Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, stressing that building a wall is not a policy, but a necessity for the country.

Previously, the Democrats have repeatedly refused to approve any laws to finance the wall, which led to the shatdaun.

Recall three weeks ago (December 22) in the US, began shatdaun - partial closure of the federal government due to lack of funding. The congress and presidential administration cannot agree on expenses for the next year or at least several months. President Donald Trump is demanding almost 6 billion dollars to be allocated for the construction of a wall on the border with Mexico, but Congress, whose lower house is under the control of the Democratic Party after the mid-term elections, refuses to allocate this money.

Now the head of the United States intends to introduce a state of emergency in the country - in this case, he will be able to provide funding for the construction of the wall from the US military budget.
