“At the Chisinau International Airport, a foreign citizen was denied entry. While being escorted to the return zone, he grabbed a border guard's gun and killed two officers. The shooter was neutralized,” Moldovan authorities said.

The prime minister of Moldova said that a 43-year-old citizen of Tajikistan arranged the shooting at the airport in Chisinau.

The violator of the order barricaded himself in one of the rooms. During the assault, special forces wounded a man and detained him. The media reported that he arrived on a flight from Turkey. It is assumed that this may be a mercenary of PMC "Wagner".

“Members of the FULGER special police squad managed to neutralize the aggressor who recently killed two people at Chisinau International Airport. The danger has now been eliminated. The attacker was wounded and is receiving medical attention,” authorities said in a statement.
It is clarified that commercial activities and the organization of flights are currently suspended.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu conveyed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
According to the statement, the shooter will be held accountable. A criminal case has been initiated. The Attorney General's Office launched an investigation.
