A stewardess dropped out of an Air India airline and went to the hospital.
53-year-old Lobo suffered serious injuries when she fell out of the plane trying to close the rear door of the Boeing 777. At this point, AI Flight 864 was expecting a takeoff from Mumbai to New Delhi, senior manager of the airline Pravin Batnagar told Agence France Press.
“One of our employees, Harsha Lobo, dropped out of the Boeing-777 liner onto the asphalt when she tried to close the door,” representatives of the airline said. “She injured her leg and was sent to Nanavati hospital for further treatment,” they added.
The airline is currently investigating the incident.
In March, a Emirates stewardess dropped out of an accidentally opened escape hatch at Entebbe Airport (Uganda) and sustained serious injuries, from which she later died in hospital. The accident occurred when the crew was preparing to take off.
