Steven Seagal appointed Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia for humanitarian ties with the United States
Popular actor Stephen Sigal has been appointed Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Russian-American humanitarian ties.

“The task is to promote the further development of Russian-American relations in the humanitarian sphere, including interaction in the field of culture, art, public and youth exchanges, and so on,” the ministry explained the actor’s tasks in the new position.
The ministry clarified that this is a socio-political position that does not imply a monetary reward.
“This is the very case when public diplomacy meets traditional diplomacy. In international practice, parallels can be drawn with the functions of UN Goodwill Ambassadors,” the Foreign Ministry explained.
Recall that the actor received Russian citizenship on November 3 2016, he had American citizenship before.
