Russian architect’s start-up will make American travel more comfortable

Rest while traveling is a very important thing. Realizing this, Russian architect Mikhail Krymov launched the Sleepbox startup in the United States, offering travelers small, cozy sleeping chambers at airports.

Sleepbox Nap Lounge is located in Terminal A, it is a micro-hotel where you can really relax. Travelers can sleep on a bed with a high-quality mattress in a soundproof room, which also has access to sockets and entertainment resources, which will allow travelers to charge their devices and recharge themselves with energy.

“We believe that the ability to relax and recharge in the midst of our busy lives is a valuable asset,” the company website quotes Mikhail Krymov, CEO and founder of Sleepbox, as saying.

One small drawback, however, is that the Sleepbox does not offer separate bathrooms or showers in the rooms. However, several showers are available at the hotel.

The room is about 30 square feet (2,8 sq. m.) with an 8-foot (2,4 m.) ceiling height to ensure visitors don't feel cramped in the small space. Larger standard rooms of 45 square feet (4,2 sq. m) are also available. In total, the airport micro-hotel will have 16 rooms available for booking.

Compact rooms will cost $25 per hour and standard rooms will cost $35 per hour. In addition to being a relaxing, comfortable and affordable place to stay, Sleepbox has a very flexible check-in policy so you can move in and out of your room at any time. If you have a very long layover, you can also book a room for 12 hours, which will cost between $120 and $150.

Washington Dulles Airport will be the first in the United States where the Sleepbox mini-hotel will appear, but in the future the hotel will also appear at Boston airport.

Travelers will be able to book rooms through the app or Sleepbox websitestarting from 7 December.
