The oldest cinema shows only Ukrainian cinema

In Kiev, they presented a renewed cinema named after Chapaev on Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya Street, which will show exclusively Ukrainian films.

The National Union of Cinematographers and Kievkinofilm turned to the capital's mayor's office with an initiative to return the cinema built in 1913 to its historical name - Lyra.

It is noted that the repertoire of the cinema will be about 50 domestic tapes created in recent years. These are fiction, documentary, animation tapes, as well as collections of short debuts.

Cultural events will also take place in Lira. For example, on Fridays there will be performances by directors and artists, and on Thursdays there will be a retrospective of classics of Ukrainian cinema, which will be presented by film critics.
