United States expanded sanctions against Russia

The US Department of the Treasury has expanded sanctions against Russia.

18 Russians came under restrictions under CAATSA law, 15 of whom are employees of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU), reports RIA News.

Sanctions will also apply to the FAN news agency, Economy Today LLC, Nevskie Novosti LLC and the resource usareally.com.

In addition, the sanctions were Anatoly Chepiga and Alexander Mishkin, who are suspected of poisoning Russian scout-defector Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.

Also included in the blacklist was Project Lakhta employee Elena Khusyainova. October 19, 2018 US Department of Justice has filed charges against herrelated to an attempt to interfere with the midterm elections in the United States in November 2018. In Washington, it is believed that Khusyainova is the accountant in charge of the operation's budget. The Russian woman herself responded by saying that she does not know English and is a “simple Russian woman.”

CAATSA Sanctions List In October, the United States began to form 2017 in the United States, and American and natural persons will punish individuals and organizations for cooperation with the people and organizations indicated therein, imposing economic restrictions on them.

At the same time, the US Treasury Department intends to lift restrictions on the companies En+, Rusal and Eurosibenergo in 30 days. At the same time, businessman Oleg Deripaska, who owns part of these companies, will remain on the sanctions list, and his assets, in which he owns more than 50%, will remain blocked.
