The United States carried out an explosion at a test site in Nevada immediately after Russia announced the lifting of the ban on nuclear tests
The United States conducted an experiment using explosives at a nuclear test site in Nevada a few hours after Russia lifted its ban on atomic weapons tests. Moscow says this will put it on par with the United States. The publication told in more detail Fox News.
As reported by Bloomberg, citing the US Department of Energy, the tests used chemicals and radioisotopes to “test new models of predicted explosions” that could help detect atomic explosions in other countries.
“These experiments advance our efforts to develop new technologies in support of U.S. nuclear nonproliferation goals,” Corey Hinderstein, deputy administrator for defense nuclear nonproliferation at the National Nuclear Security Administration, said in a statement. “They will help reduce global nuclear threats by improving detection of underground nuclear explosive testing.”

This test is notable because it was completed on time. Russian lawmakers have announced their intention to withdraw ratification of the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty.
The corresponding bill will go to the upper house of the Russian parliament - the Federation Council, which will consider it next week. Deputies of the Federation Council have already stated that they will support the bill.
The treaty, adopted in 1996, prohibits any nuclear explosions anywhere in the world, although it has never come into full force. It has not yet been ratified by China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, Israel, Iran and Egypt.
U.S. officials have said more transparency is needed because while the U.S. and Russia are not testing warheads, they are conducting so-called subcritical experiments - explosions that test a weapon's design without the amount of atomic material needed to sustain a chain reaction.

There are widespread concerns that Russia could resume nuclear testing to try to discourage the West from continuing to support Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that although some experts talk about the need for nuclear tests, he has not yet formed his opinion on this issue.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that Moscow will continue to comply with the ban and resume nuclear testing only if Washington does so first.
