US fined Russian airline for $ 350 thousand
The US government has decided to take punitive measures against the Russian airline Bashkortostan. This is discussed in the published official statement of the Bureau of Industry and Security of the US Department of Commerce.
As follows from this document, the American government accuses the Bashkortostan company of supplying Boeing aircraft to Iran in violation of the rules and regulations in force in the United States. According to the Washington administration, the Bashkortostan company, referred to in the notice as Air Bashkortostan, “re-exported Boeing 7 aircraft from Russia to Iran four times between January 19 and March 2009, 757, without the necessary consent of the US government.” The amount of these transactions amounted to $4,5 million.
As the US Department of Commerce clarified, a fine of $350 thousand was imposed on the Bashkortostan company. In addition, it lost the right to purchase in the United States for a year any goods and technologies the turnover of which is regulated by export control provisions.
Individuals and legal entities in the United States are prohibited from interacting with the Bashkortostan company, including receiving goods and services subject to export controls in its interests.
