Putin's adviser: the United States "would very much like Russia to not exist at all"
One of the closest advisers to Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed the opinion that the United States would like Russia to disappear as an independent state.
“They would very much like Russia to not exist at all. As countries, ”Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev said in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper, speaking of the United States.
“We have tremendous wealth,” he continued. “And the Americans believe that we own them illegally and unfairly, because, in their opinion, we don’t use them as we should have.”
Patrushev also complained that the United States allegedly impose sanctions policy against Russia on Europe.
On Monday, the European Union extended the economic and financial sanctions imposed against Russia in connection with its aggression against Ukraine. This decision provoked a sharp reaction from Moscow, which threatened the EU with retaliatory measures.
In an interview, Patrushev called the Europeans "quite limp."
“The United States seeks to dominate the world. Such a goal is spelled out in their doctrines. And while they succeed: they dominate, despite the fact that the world is changing, ”pointed out Putin’s advisor.
