The owner of a pickup truck carrying wounded people in Las Vegas is looking for a car thief and keys.

A US Marine veteran who hijacked a pickup truck to help take the wounded to the hospital after a mass execution in Las Vegas, published his text correspondence with the owner of the pickup truck.

Taylor Winston risked his life to help the wounded, whom Stephen Paddock shot from the Mandalay Bay’s 32 floor.

He saw a pickup truck with keys in the ignition without a driver. Taylor hijacked him to deliver the victims to the nearest medical center.

Three days after the bloodiest event in modern US history, the owner of the pickup truck sent Taylor a message: “Hey Taylor, was told that you might have the keys to my pickup truck?”

The owner of the pickup truck was identified as Phelps Amelsberg.

Winston told Amelsberg what an important role the truck played in saving lives and apologized for the "blood."

The NY Post reported that Winston returned the keys to the truck owner on Monday evening.

Several Facebook commentators offered to send money to clear the truck of blood, and offered to create a GoFundMe account.

Winston's act touched many. As a token of gratitude, now the 29-year-old hero received his own pick-up as a gift for heroism from B5Motors, a dealership in Arizona.

Winston, who served in the army from 2006 to 2011, plans to sell his current car and donate money to victims of the shooting in Las Vegas.

“At B5Motors, we were amazed by the heartbreaking stories from Vegas,” the dealership wrote on Facebook.

“He stole a pickup truck to quickly deliver the victim to the hospital. We would like to find Taylor and thank him for his courage by giving him a free pick-up from B5Motors.

“It is a great honor for us to play a role in this vicious circle, as now Taylor will sell his current car and donate this money to the victims in Las Vegas.

"Thanks to everyone for helping us find Taylor, we could not have done it without the efforts of our friends at B5 Motors on social networks."
