Saudi media publishes image of terrorist threat in Canada

In the account of the publication "Saudi Arabia in infographics" in the microblogging Twitter appeared The picture, which can be interpreted as a threat of terrorist attack in Canada.

It depicted the Air Canada airliner flying into the tower "CNN" - a symbol of Toronto, one of the most famous cities in the country, the newspaper writes TJ.

The image was supplemented with the caption: "He who interferes with that which does not concern him, will receive that which does not please him."

Soon the picture was deleted, replacing it with a similar one, but without an airplane, and later the @infographic_ksa account disappeared from Twitter and Instagram.

According to US media reports, the Saudi Arabia Infographic account is linked to the state. However, the project calls itself a "volunteer" and "non-profit" organization.

The conflict between Saudi Arabia and Canada began with a tweet from Canadian Foreign Minister Krysti Freeland, who called upon the country's authorities to release the blogger Raif Badavi and his sister, human rights activist Samar Badavi, arrested at the beginning of August.

In 2014, man sentenced to 10 years in prison and thousands of lashes on charges of insulting Islam. The blogger’s wife and children migrated to Canada to avoid persecution, and in 2018 got Canadian citizenship.

After tweet by Canadian minister Saudi Arabia sent diplomats from the country, froze trade and investment relations with Canada and stopped flying to Toronto.
