Hawking before his death spoke about the new threat to humanity

Theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, who died in March of this year, shortly before his death, predicted that in the future a race of superhumans would emerge that would become a threat to humanity. He wrote about this in his last book, reports RIA News.

Before his death, Hawking wrote “Short Answers to Big Questions,” which will be published on October 16. In it, the physicist shared fears that in the future people will be able to make changes to DNA for money in order to improve various qualities of the body. By modifying the DNA in themselves and their children, they can improve memory, intelligence, immunity and life expectancy.

“Perhaps certain laws will be passed against genetic engineering on humans, but some will not be able to overcome the temptation to improve human qualities, such as memory, resistance to disease, life expectancy,” the newspaper quotes excerpts from the book.

Such experiments carry risks for those who do not undergo improvement at the genetic level. “The appearance of superhumans will immediately lead to the emergence of serious political problems with unimproved people who will not be able to compete with them. Apparently they will die out or become insignificant. Instead, we will get a race of people who design themselves, improving more and more,” the physicist suggested.

Hawking was born on 8 on January 1942, in Oxford. In the 1963 year, he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, after 22, he lost the ability to speak. Hawking became one of the famous theoretical physicists of our time. Scientist passed away 14 March 2018 of the year at his home in Cambridge.
