How many immigrants from the former USSR live in the USA
It turns out that 50 million migrants live in the United States—20% of all migrants in the world.
According to the Pew Research Center, as of 2017, there were 49,8 million foreign-born people living in the United States, they write “Arguments and Facts". Most of all are Mexicans (12,7 million), Chinese (2,4 million), Indians (2,3 million), Filipinos (2,1 million), Puerto Ricans (1,9). Immigrants from Russia are in 22nd place in this “rating” - there are 420 thousand of them. In total, immigrants from the countries of the former USSR are 1,2 million people.
Earlier they wrote that in New York elderly immigrants account for about 50% of the older population of the city. Older immigrants tend to have lower incomes and 60% of them find it difficult to communicate in English.
