Service Uber officially began work in Kiev

The world's popular private transportation service Uber has officially launched in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv. The company began work with its most popular product - the budget UberX.

The minimum cost of a trip at the basic UberX fare for residents of Kiev will be 40 UAH (less than $ 2), including car delivery. Until 3 July, inclusive, users will be able to make 5 trips free of charge for up to 150 UAH each ($ 6).

As the regional manager of Uber in Eastern Europe, Anthony Le Roux, said at the presentation, before the launch of Uber, more than 40 thousands of Kiev residents tried to use the application to call the car. This is one of the highest rates among all countries.

Uber will be driving Kiev residents on four-door cars of class B and above, produced no earlier than 2008 of the year. These will be cars such as the Ford Focus, Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo and Chevrolet Lacetti. The full list can be viewed at link. Several hundred Ukrainian drivers are ready to start work. In addition to the documents on the car, they all need a license for carting and a certificate of no criminal record, as well as registration of the FLP (individual entrepreneur).

For those who do not want to register as FLP, the company offers to work through official partners, who will charge a commission of about 10% for their services.

Uber itself also takes a commission from each order, which in Kiev will be 25%.

It is not yet known when Uber will start work in other cities of the country, but the head of the Ukrainian office of the company, Arkady Vershebenyuk, assured that the company is interested in all million-plus cities.

On the Uber trainings in Kiev, reported that drivers must meet three criteria: do not sit pants on the outskirts, where it is more difficult to get orders; take 8 from 10 orders and have a rating (estimated from users) not lower than 4,7 from 5 possible.

If all conditions are met, the driver will receive an hourly rate even in the absence of orders (from 50 UAH / hour at night on weekdays, to 180 UAH / hour on Friday evening or at night at the weekend). Drivers will receive money once a week.

In addition, the service also has a so-called “referral” program. If the driver brings a colleague with him, he will receive 600 UAH for this. True, a new driver must be registered as a sole proprietor and make 50 trips per month. According to instructor Ivan from St. Petersburg, this number of trips is usually completed in three days.

Launched in 2010 year, the American project Uber, which is the most expensive start-up in the world, for the first time announced the entry into the Ukrainian market 1 last July.

The Uber service already operates in more than 450 cities in more than 75 countries around the world. The leader in Eastern Europe in terms of growth rate is Minsk - over six months, 80 thousand new users were registered in the capital of Belarus, the waiting time for UberX in the city is about 5 minutes.
