Sears begins the 2019 year with the closure of another 80 stores: full list

The Sears distribution network began 2019 the year with the closure of 80 stores, which is even more than in 2018, writes Time.com.

Sears Holdings, which also owns the Kmart retail chain, recently released a new list of Kmart and Sears stores, which are scheduled to close in March of 2019.

The most affected states are Texas and Florida, where seven Sears stores will be closed in each.

Buyers can count on liquidation sales at these Sears and Kmart 80 stores, which may begin this week, but not later than mid-January.

Is it profitable to make purchases at such a sale?

As a rule, resale prices start at about 50% discounts on shoes and clothes, and possibly 10% on tools and equipment.

The closure of Sears stores at the start of 2018 and 2019 is the result of serious problems for the company that owns this retail chain. Recall that Sears Holdings in October 2018, officially announced about bankruptcy.

Due to the rather frequent reports about the closure of all new stores of this network, it is difficult to say exactly how many of them still work. According to a recent calculation, by the end of 2018, the Sears and Kmart stores were open in the United States around 700, compared to about 2 000 stores five years earlier.

When the last closing round ends in March, the total number of Kmart and Sears stores open in the United States will be around 600.
