The most popular US national parks: which places in America you definitely need to see
424 properties operated by the US National Park Service (NPS) continue to recover from the pandemic. What are the most visited places in 2022? CNN.
In 2022, NPS registered almost 312 million visits. This is approaching the pre-pandemic figures of 2019. Then there were approximately 327,5 million visits.
In 2022, NPS also made sure to avoid the long lines and temporary closures of many campsite parks, as they did in 2021.
"We're pleased to see our efforts to increase off-season and lesser-known park visitation are paying off," National Park Service Director Chuck Sams said in an online statement.

At the same time, 331 NPS objects accounted for only 25% of all visits.
This is something to consider when you're thinking about where to go, especially if you don't like crowds, full parking lots, and early reservations. Click hereto see the full ranking from most visited to least visited.
