Russia: Jews are behind Trump's victory

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova, said that Donald Trump had won the presidential race in the United States because she received the support of the Jews.

Commenting on the results of the presidential elections in the United States, a high-ranking Russian diplomat said that they did not surprise her. According to her, the key reason for the victory of Donald Trump became Jewish money.

“If you want to know what will happen in America, who should you talk to? We must talk to Jews, naturally. Of course!” said Zakharova. These words were met with applause from the audience. Then the diplomat spoke with an exaggerated Jewish accent.

“They told me: “Marochka, you know, we, of course, will give Clinton. But we will give the Republicans twice as much.” All! The issue was closed. Therefore, if you want to know the future, do not read mainstream newspapers. Our people will tell you everything in Brighton!” said the diplomat, burring heavily.

The editorial staff of NEWSru.co.il sought clarification from the Israeli Foreign Ministry in order to find out if they were aware of the scandalous statement and whether they considered Zakharova’s words to be a manifestation of anti-Semitism. The question was also asked whether the Israeli Foreign Ministry intends to take any official steps.

The press service of the Israeli Foreign Ministry said it did not intend to comment on the words of the official representative of the Russian Federation. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, where the editorial board of NEWSru.co.il also sought clarification, left the appeal without an answer.

Among other things, the following questions were asked in a letter sent to Smolensk Square: do the words of Zakharova reflect the official position of the Russian leadership, do they comply with the norms of the diplomatic protocol, does the Russian Foreign Ministry consider this statement anti-Semitic.

Meanwhile, Michael McFaul, the former US ambassador to Russia who was sharply criticized by Zakharova, wrote on Facebook: “Wow! And this is the woman who criticizes me for not being diplomatic."

Election of the President of the United States passed 8 November. According to popular vote, Clinton won, but Trump was supported by more electors (290 vs. 228).

The electoral college will meet on December 19 for the formal election of the 45 president, and on January 6, Congress will approve its results. The inauguration of the new president is scheduled for January 20 2017.
