Russian journalists again not allowed to Moldova

Moldova did not allow journalist Alexei Golovka, who works for the Russian Armed Forces TV channel Zvezda, into its territory.

The border guards detained them at the Chisinau airport when they found out that the Russian film crew was planning to travel to self-proclaimed Transnistria.

The separatist "republic" fell outside the control of Moldovan authorities in 1990 due to Russian intervention. 25 years ago, 550 thousand people lived in the separatist region. The independence of the self-proclaimed republic was not recognized by any country in the world.

“We flew to Moldova just to go by car from Chisinau to Tiraspol. They were going to film a report there about the economic situation in Transnistria, which has been experiencing isolation since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. But we couldn’t get to Tiraspol,” Golovko said. He added that he was not allowed into Moldova due to “a lack of documents that confirm the purpose of the visit.”

This is not the first time that Russian propagandists cannot get into Moldovan territory. Last time chisinau didn't let in the country Dmitry Kiselev and the editor-in-chief of the news editorial office of the Rossiya 1 TV channel. They were banned from entry for 5 years.
