Russian students received priority when issuing US visas

According to Lawrence Toby, head of the consular department of the US Embassy in Moscow, Russian students studying in the United States receive priority in issuing visas. TASS.

“We organize our interviews not based on regional characteristics,” explained the head of the consular section of the US Embassy in Moscow, Lawrence Tobey, commenting on the order of consideration of visa requests from Russians. “For example, at this time of year, we give priority to students who are studying at universities in the United States,” he said. “They need to be in time for classes at US universities, which will start soon.”

Recall that the United States in response to reduction 755 employees of the diplomatic mission in Russia decided to 23 August suspend procedure for issuing non-immigrant visas throughout Russia. The procedure for issuing nonimmigrant visas will be resumed from September 1, but in a significantly reduced volume.
