Relatives of the Tsarnaevs testified before the Federal Court of Boston
The jury will decide whether 21-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev should be sentenced to death or life imprisonment.
Relatives of the convicted organizer of the bombings at the Boston Marathon, Johar Tsarnaev, testified before the Federal Court of Boston. They spoke during the second stage of the trial, at which the jury must determine whether he would be sentenced to death for killing three people and injuring more than 260.
One of the members of the Tsarnaev family told the court that Johar's brother, Tamerlan, experienced a strong feeling of hatred during his visit to Russia in 2012. Naida Suleymanova, a cousin, said she was frightened when she learned that Tamerlane had taken extremist views.
Lawyers tried to present Tsarnaev as a subordinate member of the terrorist attack, who was headed and organized by Tamerlane, who died after an exchange of fire with the police four days after the terrorist attack.
According to a survey conducted by CNN, the majority of Americans consider Jokhar Tsarnaev guilty on all counts of 30. Respondents are convinced that for everything that happened at the Boston Marathon in 2013 the perpetrator must suffer the death penalty.
