In San Francisco, a restored museum has been opened, where science, art and the wonders of nature, including living animals, coexist easily.
After two years of restoration, which cost 9 millions of dollars, Randall museum opened the doors to its visitors.
“This is a place where you can bring your kids for free and have an amazing educational experience,” said Supervisor Jeff Sheikhi, who represents District eight, where is Randall. “I've brought my daughter here many times. It’s a real gem in my area,” he added.
Sheikhs consider it important that the museum be open in the summer when parents will be looking for ways to occupy their children. About 100 000 people visit the museum annually.
A new modern STEM laboratory with a laser appeared in the museum. Here, children can use computers to create designs that the laser cuts out of wood. And children will be able to take their crafts home.
Tara Holmes, Chairman of the Board Randall Museum Friendswhich helps promote the facility, said the STEM laboratory will help introduce the museum “in the digital age”.
“This is what we really wanted to achieve,” she said.
