Putin: Russia will never give the United States suspected of interfering in elections

Russian President Vladimir Putin said the country will never give the US its citizens who are suspected of hacking attacks in the States during the presidential election campaign 2016 of the year.

During the conversation, the head of Russia said that this state has nothing to do with interference in the presidential elections in the United States.

When asked by the presenter whether Russia would extradite citizens suspected of interfering in elections, Putin replied: “Never... Russia never extradites its citizens, just like the United States.”

“I know that they do not represent the Russian state, the Russian authorities. What exactly they did, I have no idea. If they did something, let their American colleagues provide us with materials, details, data, and we will study them,” the Russian president said.

Putin also stressed that before the official accusation of the Russians, American officials should have sent a request to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.

“Give us this document, give us an official request,” Putin said, emphasizing that such statements should be conveyed “through official channels, and not through the press and shouting in the US Congress.”

At the same time, the head of the Kremlin stressed that Russia could not prosecute people who did not violate Russian laws.

Recall 16 February US Department of Justice brought charges against 13 Russian citizens in interference in the 2016 US presidential election. The Russians are accused of conspiring to deceive the United States. Two Russians on the list are accused of bank fraud, and another 4 are accused of identity theft.
