The failure in Florida swallowed up two more houses. VIDEO
Florida's fragile soil often leads to the formation of funnels, and they, in turn, "swallow" everything that was on the surface. Already not the first residential building in minutes goes underground.
So, over the weekend, the crater devoured two more homes in Land O Lakes, Florida, in the residential area Lake padgett estates. Thus, six houses went underground since July 14, when a record giant failure was formed. Then two houses, a boat and a part of the road went underground at the same time.
On Saturday, rescuers dropped 55 trucks of crushed limestone and boulders into a dip to level one edge of the crater and build a ramp in the well. Last week, the Pasco County Commission received a $ 640 000 contract to clear the garbage bin.
Neighbors try to stay positive because they expect it to end soon. The Commission believes that groundwater has caused everything.
Florida is one of the most dangerous states in the United States in terms of the failure of the soil: for the most part it consists of carbonate limestone rocks. Funnels have become commonplace here.
