US police are looking for the "Arizona sniper"

In the state of Arizona, law enforcement agencies are making every effort to find an armed criminal who is shooting at moving cars. In less than two weeks, more than a dozen such cases have been recorded.

The “hunt” for motorists is underway in the city of Phoenix, reports NBC News. As a result, drivers try to choose alternative routes to avoid becoming the target of a “maniacal sniper.”

The police also call for vigilance and believe that the perpetrator can not act alone.

The last shooting case was recorded on Thursday morning in the I-10 area. The bullet fired by the intruder left a mark on the passenger door of the truck, at the edge of the window. This may indicate that the offender was aiming not just at the car, but at people sitting in the cab.

The police added that according to the results of the examinations, in seven out of ten previous cases the damage was caused by bullets. In the remaining incidents, it was not possible to accurately determine the type of “shells” fired.

No one was seriously injured in these attacks. However, an 13-year-old girl was injured by shrapnel from broken glass.

“The actions of the shooter are extremely dangerous,” TASS quotes the head of the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Frank Milstead, as saying. “They are shooting at moving cars.”

The attacker targeted cars of various types and even a tourist bus, which, fortunately, had no passengers. A $20 reward has been announced for help in catching the “Arizona sniper.”

For now the police have no leads. It was not possible to find out even the make and description of the car on which the armed criminal probably moves.

Sniper first announced himself 29 August. Then for an hour, a passenger car, an SUV and an empty tourist bus, driven by Robert McDonald, were fired upon. According to the driver, a bullet stuck in a chair behind him. If the stopping power were higher, the driver would have been wounded in the shoulder.
