Policeman from New York received a pension and benefits for the deceased mother

The New York City Police Department officer and his wife were arrested for noticing to the social security authorities regularly appropriating the pension of his deceased mother, NYPD sources said.

Edward St. Hill and Maria Ramos were to appear before the judge of the Supreme Court of Brooklyn, Danny Chun, on Tuesday, in order to be prosecuted on the indictment of cashing the pension charges of the deceased woman, as well as her social security checks, writes New York Daily News.

Supposedly, the couple went so far that they even continued to fill out prescriptions for medications of a dead woman, whose name was not given to the press, a police source said. It is not known whether the spouses received the drugs and used them in any way.

Hill's mother died in 2016 - for more than two years, he and his enterprising wife allegedly received her money, checks and prescriptions in a disgusting fraudulent scheme.

In total, according to the preliminary investigation, during this time the couple “knocked out” approximately $300 thousand from the state.

Among other things, they also put up a deceased house for sale.

The 53-year-old officer and his 45-year-old wife face criminal charges of possession of controlled substances, theft in large amounts, theft of personal data, falsification of documents and other crimes.

Hill, a NYPD veteran with a 15-year experience, serves on the 28 site in Harlem. He was suspended after his arrest, awaiting the outcome of his criminal case. According to sources, he joined the group at this site in 2003.

Hill and Ramos were awaiting indictment at the Brooklyn Criminal Court on Tuesday afternoon. The couple's daughter refused to comment on the reporters who came to her on the same day.
