April Fools' joke of nature: heavy snow is expected in the northeastern USA

Nature decided to play a trick on the inhabitants of the northeastern United States on the eve of April XNUMXst.

The point is that a storm system aimed at the northeast will bring a new round of rain and the chance of snow falling in some parts of this region.

In fact, some areas, especially upstate New York, may experience 6 to 12 inches (15-30 cm) of snow.

The time frame for the storm system is the afternoon of Wednesday, March 31 through Thursday, April 1, with a chance of snowfall in the area overnight. Little or no accumulation is expected later.

"The best chances for snow accumulation are primarily on unpaved surfaces and higher elevations in the Appalachians of West Virginia and Pennsylvania, much of upstate New York and parts of northern New England," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Tyler Royce.

Tuesday, March 30th, will remain the most pleasant and springtime day of the week, with sunny skies and temperatures rising to around 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15,5 Celsius).

Cloudiness will increase from Wednesday night, March 31st, and will persist throughout the day, with the storm system arriving in the afternoon. Rain will continue from time to time throughout the night, at times with a touch of snow, partly in the more elevated regions to the north and west.

By dawn on Thursday, April 1, the rain will stop, but the chances of rain will remain until noon on an overcast and crisp day with temperatures above 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4,4 Celsius).
