NATO Parliamentary Assembly called for accelerating Ukraine's entry into the Alliance and accused Russia of genocide

The document recognizes Russia's crimes against Ukraine as genocide, condemns the ideology of rashism, supports the restoration of territorial integrity, sanctions, reparations, as well as the "Marshall Plan for Ukraine."

“We will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary,” said NATO PA President Joël Garrio-Maillam. “Today, with its courageous resistance to Russian aggression, Ukraine defends our common security, our values ​​and the rules-based international order. The future of this international order is at stake.”

In addition, the NATO PA expressed its determination to hold the Russian regime and "its co-aggressors in the Belarusian regime" accountable "for the crime of aggression, war crimes, crimes against humanity and possible acts of genocide committed in Ukraine."

“At the assembly session in Luxembourg, we achieved the adoption of an extremely strong declaration, which will have far-reaching political consequences,” stated Chernev.

Membership of Ukraine in NATO

In addition, the Assembly called on the governments of their countries to openly announce at the summit in Vilnius that Ukraine will become a member of the Alliance and agree on the next concrete steps for Ukraine's accession to NATO.

“This is our diplomatic victory. All our key wishes regarding the final text of the declaration have been taken into account,” Chernev noted.

The deputy emphasized that thanks to this decision, “the foundation for the NATO summit in Vilnius has been laid.” “Parliamentarians of the Alliance countries have expressed their position. Now it’s up to the governments,” the deputy added.
