House of Representatives blocked trump impeachment initiative

The US House of Representatives 17 July blocked the beginning of the procedure for the removal of Donald Trump from the presidency of the United States.

The beginning of the impeachment procedure was initiated by Congressman Al Green from the state of Texas, representing the Democratic Party, writes CBS News.

In order to block the initiative, congressman voted 332, 95 voted against, one abstained.

Before July 17, Green had twice tried to bring a resolution on Trump's impeachment to the House of Representatives for consideration, and each time his initiative did not find support among parliamentarians. On Wednesday, a resolution on impeachment was first put to the vote.

Greene offered to start the impeachment procedure because of the insulting remarks of the president to several women from the progressive wing of the Democratic Party.

The tension escalated on 16 July, when Republican of Georgia Doug Collins demanded that Speaker Nancy Pelosi (from the Democratic Party) speak out of the public report of the House of Representatives meeting after she condemned the President’s racist tweets.

Then the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives voted not to delete Pelosi’s words from the protocol, the votes were divided along party lines. Then there was resolution adopted condemning Trump's remarks.

Recall, Trump was accused of racism after he posted on Twitter a message criticizing the representatives of the Democratic Party in the US Congress.
