Poll: Russians' attitude towards the US improves
Russians improve their attitude towards the US and the EU, while the perception of Ukraine does not change.
This is evidenced by the results of a survey conducted by the Levada Center.
Thus, Russians’ negative perception of the United States continues to decline (65% in January 2016 versus 81% in January 2015), while maintaining high “post-Crimean” rates of negativism.
Russians also began to have a better attitude towards the European Union. According to the survey, in January 2015, 71% of Russians had a negative attitude towards the EU, and in January of this year the number dropped to 58%.
At the same time, the attitude towards Ukraine does not actually change. Over the course of the year, Russians' perception of Ukraine improved by only 5% - from 64% of those who had a bad view of Ukraine in January 2015 to 59% in January of this year.
Sociologists have noted some positive dynamics in attitudes towards Belarus - in January, 81% of Russians spoke of sympathy for this country, now - 84%. Every tenth person has a negative perception of this country (9% now and 11% in January).
45% of Russians have a good attitude towards Georgia, 35% have a bad attitude (in March these figures were 48% and 33%, respectively).
As ForumDaily wrote earlier, three quarters of Russians - 75% - count them.that the country needs to build relations with the United States and other Western countries.
