Three Grammy Award Winner Arrested: 13-Point Charge
American R&B singer and winner of three awards "Grammy" R KellThey arrested a child pornography and obstruction of justice case in Chicago, US media reported. The total charge, according to The New York Times, contains 13 points.
According to Air forcelawyer singer Steve Greenberg, according to the Chicago Sun-Times, confirmed the arrest of R Kelly, but declined to give details. New York police have not officially announced the arrest of R Kelly.
For 52-year-old R Kelly, the author of the hits I Believe I Can Fly and Bump n'Grind, this is not the first trouble with the law - for decades he has been accused by girls who claim to have been his victims. Among them are those who were minors at the time of the alleged attacks. In February of this year, the singer was arrested in connection with sexual assault against three minor girls.
In 2008, he appeared before the court in a case of child pornography and was acquitted.
R Kelly himself has never before been convicted and denied all charges.
It remains unclear whether the new case is connected with the old charges.
R Kelly (real name Robert Sylvester Kelly) is an R&B singer, poet and producer. During his musical career, which began in 1992, he has won three Grammy Awards.
Problems with law
In 1994, R Kelly secretly married the singer Aaliyah, who was then 15 years old. The marriage ended in February 1995, Aaliyah died in a plane crash in 2001.
Neither in his autobiography, nor in an interview with R Kelly did not discuss his relationship with the singer, claiming that they were best friends.
In 2001, a 17-year-old trainee accused the singer of harassment. In 2002, two more suits were filed against him.
In June of the same year, the singer was accused of making child pornography on 12 episodes. Presumably, the police found a video at the singer's home. In 2008, the jury acquitted the jury in the case of filming child pornography.
In 2017, Buzzfeed published an article accusing R Kelly of creating a “sex cult” in which six girls were members against their will.
