Nobel Prize in Economics gave for the analysis of consumption

The Nobel Prize in Economics for the 2015 year was announced by economist Angus Deaton from Princeton University for analyzing consumption, poverty and social security.

The message of the Nobel Committee saysThat Dean’s work focuses on three main issues - how exactly do consumers distribute their spending on different products, how much people spend and what do they save, and what methods should be used to analyze the level of poverty and wealth in society.

Angus Deaton was born in 1945 year. After receiving several higher educations, he worked for some time at the Bank of England, and since 1983 has been working at Princeton University.

The award ceremony will be held on December 10. The premium amount is 8 million Swedish crowns (approximately 953 thousands of dollars).

Last year, Professor Jean Tirol from the University of Toulouse won the award for his analysis of market regulation.

The Nobel Prize in Economics is awarded from 1969 of the year and is not directly related to Alfred Nobel, who established the rest of the awards in his own name.

The initiator of the award for achievements in the field of economics was the Bank of Sweden. He also in 1968, the Nobel Committee allocated the necessary funds for the establishment of the award.
