Named the amount of expenses of Ukraine on your image

An effective result in promoting the image of Ukraine abroad with the current limited financial support can be achieved through a combination of efforts of the state and non-state sectors.

This was discussed at a briefing on Friday following a meeting of the National Reform Council (NRR).

In particular, Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine Dmitry Shimkiv said that currently about $2 thousand per month is allocated for the activities of the Ministry of Information Policy. “It’s just ridiculous if we’re talking about promoting and protecting interests in the world,” he said

For his part, the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration, Valeriy Chaly, noted that the Foreign Ministry’s expenditures on promoting the image of Ukraine abroad are provided for in the amount of 59 thousand. 694 UAH.

The deputy head of the APU emphasized that Ukraine should pay great attention to the topic of promoting its image abroad, and under such conditions, an effective result in this area can be achieved by “synergy and a combination of efforts” in the state and non-state sectors.

“We have zero government funding. Well, we have the powerful desires of our people in Ukraine and abroad to support Ukraine. The activity of our civil society is what now allows us to somehow compensate for the lack of government resources,” he said.

According to Chaly, a platform has now been created to solve this problem - a targeted reform team. “This is a working group that today consists of representatives of the Presidential Administration, Verkhovna Rada committees, in particular the heads of the committees on Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Information Policy - government agencies. And from non-governmental institutions - the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center, the World Congress of Ukrainians, where we really expect to make more serious coordination, the International Renaissance Foundation, the Reanimation Package of Reforms, the Institute of World Politics. And three television projects: the existing Ukraine Today, the one being created by Ukraine Tomorrow, and the project that the President is trying to implement and which cannot be implemented by Ukraine alone - the creation of a pan-European Russian-language television channel,” he explained.
