A tourist dies on one of the world's highest bungee jumps
A Japanese tourist, a 56-year-old man, died after jumping from the world's second-highest bungee jump at Macau Tower in China, reports New York Post.

On December 3, after jumping from 232 m, the man began to experience shortness of breath.
By the time emergency personnel arrived to take him to Conde S. Januário Hospital, he had stopped breathing altogether and had no heartbeat.

Doctors were unable to resuscitate the patient.
The thrill seeker did not suffer any superficial injuries to his body during the jump. There was no information about the cause of death of the tourist.

Skypark by AJ Hackett, which operates bungee jumping and other tourist attractions at Macau Tower, requires customers to tell staff if they have any medical conditions, including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, epilepsy, pregnancy or previous surgery.
Macau, which first opened to the public in 2006, is the second tallest commercial bungee jump in the world, second only to China's 259m Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge bungee.
Skypark visitors pay about $360 to jump from the tower's observation deck.
Skypark by AJ Hackett has been operating for about 30 years and organizes bungee jumping in France, Singapore and Australia.
Its website states that the company has successfully completed 4 million jumps and that the company has an "excellent safety record."

In January 2018, a Russian tourist was left hanging 54m after bungee jumping from Macau Tower.
The operator then attributed the incident to the backup safety system, which was activated due to low temperatures.
